This website www.storm.be (“Website”) is an initiative of Storm Management NV, with its registered office at Borsbeeksebrug 22, 2600 Berchem, Belgium and VAT and company number VAT 0807.311.697 (hereinafter “Storm” or “we”).
Each user or visitor of the Website (“User,” “Visitor,” or “you”) provides personal data by visiting and/or using the Website, as further explained below. Storm acts as the data controller for the personal data collected through the Website and strives to collect and process your personal data in accordance with the applicable legal framework, such as the Belgian law of 30 July 2018, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016. For personal data of co-operation members collected through the Website, Storm Management NV acts as a processor for Storm CV. Storm CV, a co-operative company with company number 0535.792.564 and registered office at Borsbeeksebrug 22, 2600 Antwerp, acts as the data controller for the processing of personal data of co-operation members. When “Storm” is used hereinafter, it is also considered to refer to Storm CV in relation to the processing of co-operant data.
You acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Privacy & Cookies Policy (“Policy”), and therefore accept the processing of your personal data as described herein, including on behalf of your minor family members if necessary.
Who processes your personal data?
Storm acts as the data controller. Storm also uses processors who process your personal data on behalf of Storm and ensure the proper technical functioning of the Websites. Storm uses the following categories of processors in the context of the Website: partners responsible for hosting the Website, partners who collect and display Website statistics, etc.
Why is your personal data processed?
Storm collects and processes your personal data for the following purposes and other compatible purposes:
- Sending communications of a commercial or non-commercial nature, including direct marketing;
- Keeping you informed of relevant developments;
- Providing access to the Website and offering a secure, optimal, and personalised user experience on the Website;
- Offering general and personalised services;

How is your personal data collected?
Your personal data is obtained partly through yourself, for example, by filling out online registration forms or other forms, and partly through various technical means used by the Website to optimise the User and Visitor experience and detect any (technical) errors on the Website, such as cookies (see Article 8) and login information.
What categories of personal data are processed?
Storm collects the following categories of personal data: identification data and contact details of you and your family members, household composition, payment details, IP address, time of consultation of the Website, suspected location of consultation of the Website, data related to the device used, browser data, computer operating system data, other telecommunication data, etc.
Are my data transferred to third parties within the EU?
Your personal data may be shared with the categories of processors specified in Article 1 of this Policy, with Storm's business partners, with other entities within the Storm group, and with public authorities (to the extent they are authorised). Your personal data is not sold, transferred, or disclosed to third parties beyond this.
Is my data processed outside the EU?
In certain cases, your personal data is also transferred to and processed in countries outside the EU. In such cases, we ensure that this happens in accordance with applicable legislation to guarantee an equivalent level of protection for your personal data. Storm will respond to such requests and may or may not comply with such requests in accordance with applicable law, typically within one month, also in accordance with applicable law. Right to object
You have the right to object, due to reasons related to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data based on Storm's legitimate interest, and to object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
Right of access and inspection
You have the right to access your personal data and to obtain a copy of this data. You also have the right to certain information regarding the processing of your personal data, including the purposes of this processing, the categories of personal data, the categories of recipients, etc.
Right to rectification
You have the right to have incorrect personal data corrected or to have personal data completed.
Right to erasure
You have the right to have your personal data erased if and to the extent that: (a) your personal data are no longer needed for the purposes; (b) there is no longer a legal basis for processing; (c) you object to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for processing by Storm; (d) your personal data have been processed unlawfully; or (e) your personal data need to be erased to comply with a legal obligation that Storm is subject to.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data by Storm if and to the extent that: (a) you contest the accuracy of the personal data, for a period enabling Storm to verify its accuracy; (b) the processing is unlawful and you oppose the erasure of the personal data and instead request restriction of its use; (c) Storm no longer needs the personal data for the purposes, but you need it for legal claims; (d) you have objected to the processing, pending the verification of whether Storm's legitimate grounds override those of the User or Visitor. In the case of restriction of processing, the data may still be stored by Storm.
Right to data portability
For personal data that (i) are processed in the context of the performance of the agreement, (ii) were provided by you, and (iii) are processed through automated processes, you have the right to receive them from Storm in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, as well as to transfer these data to a similar provider or to have them directly transferred if technically feasible.
Changes
This Policy is subject to future adjustments and changes by Storm. Storm will clearly communicate such adjustments or changes, after which you explicitly accept these changes. It is therefore up to the Visitor or User to consult this Policy regularly.
