As a Project Developer Solar Energy, you will work within the Development Solar team, where we identify the ideal locations for solar PV projects, contract them, and prepare and submit permit applications.

The colleagues in the contracting team focus on securing suitable locations for the development of solar parks. You, as a driving force within the development team, will bear ultimate responsibility for your assigned projects.

You are responsible for the development of solar parks in Flanders & Wallonia from the moment the location is determined until they are ready for construction.

You will guide the preparation of necessary studies and documents to obtain environmental permits. You will maintain all relevant stakeholder contacts and collaborate with various study agencies, as well as the technical expertise of your team.

Does this sound like the perfect fit for you? Is renewable energy a field that energizes you?

Then Storm welcomes you to a diverse, stimulating role with growth potential, contributing to a better world and a greener future.

  • You are responsible for the preparation, studies, and coordination related to the drafting of the environmental permit application for your assigned projects. You will work closely with the construction colleagues, who will support you in the design and technical aspects of the solar installations.
  • You will then oversee the actual permit application and follow up on the procedure.
  • You effortlessly maintain solid relationships and initiate negotiations with (local) authorities and all other possible stakeholders. You ensure an open dialogue and work towards a consensus on administrative and environmental issues.
  • You can monitor your projects correctly and clearly. You stay in touch with various study agencies and your development team to acquire environmental permits.
  • Throughout the entire development process, you adopt a proactive and solution-oriented approach. With an analytical and critical perspective, you maintain a helicopter view of your projects.
  • You are able to assess challenges and priorities accurately and align actions accordingly.
  • Once the permit is obtained, you ensure a seamless handover of the project to colleagues responsible for its construction.
  • You enjoy mentoring less experienced colleagues, sharing your expertise, and providing support where needed.
  • Managing multiple projects in different phases simultaneously is no problem for you. You easily determine priorities and the necessary actions to resolve challenges.
  • Thinking outside the box gives you energy.
  • You see objections not as obstacles but as starting points to improve a project file.
  • You report to the Team Leader Utility Scale PV.
  • You hold a master’s degree and/or a bachelor’s degree.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in project development or management.
  • Your strong interest in the technical aspects of renewable energy, particularly solar or wind energy, will be highly valuable to us.
  • Knowledge of the environmental permit decree and Vlarem is a definite advantage.
  • You are a motivated, results-oriented person who is committed to meeting deadlines, budgets, and project quality.
  • You excel in coordination and can easily maintain an overview of different contents and dossiers. You have a decisive and critical mindset regarding content.
  • You possess strong presentation and communication skills. Additionally, you excel in negotiation and consultation.
  • You have a convincing team spirit with a high degree of independence and entrepreneurship.
  • You have an excellent command of Dutch, with a good knowledge of English and/French.
