Official ground-breaking ceremony at wind farm Geel.

12/3/14

In the city of Geel, mayor Vera Celis, mayor and aldermen Bart Julliams Leen Beke and Marleen Verboven, as well as Jan Caerts, managing director of Storm, led the official ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Storm wind farm at business park Liessel.

The wind farm will consist of three wind turbines with a total power capacity of 6 MW. This will produce enough green power to meet the electricity consumption of 4,700 households. The commissioning of the wind turbines is planned for autumn 2014.

“Plans for our wind farm in Geel date back to 2009”, says Strom representative Jan Caerts. “The final implantation of the wind turbines is determined in close consultation with the residents and the City of Geel. We are pleased that today - with the mayor and aldermen at our side – we can start building.”
