Sint-Claracollege visits Retie wind farm building site.

24/2/21

Last Monday, secondary school Sint-Claracollege visited the Storm wind farm building site in Retie. Our visitors, who arrived on their bicycles, were welcomed with a fascinating explanation of wind power and the wind farm by our Storm colleague Hans. After that, the first-year students were shown around the building site of the three wind turbines by Storm colleague Douwe. It was actually a perfect time to visit the building site, since all of the wind turbine components were still spread out across the ground, ready for close inspection. Not surprisingly, the impressive tour led to many interesting questions from the pupils. All in all, a fun and educational morning!

At Storm, we feel it’s important to engage and involve the local youngsters in our sites and operational wind farms. This way, young people can discover for themselves, up close and personal, how wind power is generated. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn more on renewable energy is quite contagious indeed.
